UM-Dearborn Office of Human Resources and MHealthy will host the “I Will Be MHealthy” Expo, encouraging faculty and staff to take a few minutes out of their day to get tips on health-related topics and learn more about their current health.
The “I Will Be MHealthy” Expo is scheduled for March 2 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the University Center, Kochoff C.
MHealthy staff will be on-hand to answer questions related to: eating healthier, being active, managing stress, becoming smoke-free, taking care of the back and body and managing alcohol consumption.
According to Colleen Greene, MHealthy Wellness Coordinator, the first few months of the year are the busiest time for programs like MHealthy as people try to maintain their New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, exercise more, quit smoking, or other health-related pursuits.
“This event is a fun and easy way to get all your questions answered in less than 20 minutes,” says Greene. “We want to let faculty and staff know there are dozens of programs and services available to help keep them motivated to stick to their resolutions year round.”
Computer stations will also be available for qualifying benefits-eligible U-M employees to complete their MHealthy Rewards 2011 health questionnaire. Participants will receive a personalized health report and a $50 before-tax incentive by completing the confidential health questionnaire by March 9. If they also complete one eligible health and well-being activity, like Weight Watchers, a fitness or nutrition consultation, a stress management program or one of more than 20 other options, they will earn an additional $50 before-tax incentive. To take the 2011 health questionnaire online or for more information, go to www.MHealthy.umich.edu/rewards.
