Hornbacher, who most recently served as the university’s controller, began his new role last week.
As director, Hornbacher will manage the university’s finances, manage accounting and internal controller functions, analyze trends for financial management and lead the financial services, cashiers/student accounts and vending functions.
“Noel has had high achievement in his financial roles, has continued to learn and develop himself, and has demonstrated strong service that is critical to his new role,” said Jeff Evans, vice chancellor for business affairs.
Hornbacher joined UM-Dearborn’s financial services department in 2004, serving in various capacities including assistant director, assistant controller, controller and interim director of financial aid. Previously, he worked within University of Michigan-Ann Arbor’s financial operations organization.
Hornbacher earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University and his Master of Business Administration degree from UM-Dearborn. He recently completed the Business and Finance Leadership Academy in Ann Arbor, an exhaustive, yearlong program that focuses on developing the leadership competencies and capacities necessary for future senior leaders in business and finance.
