Kudos: Teague Orblych

September 9, 2010

Teague Orblych, research education coordinator at the Mardigian Library, received an Outstanding Individual award from the Southfield Public Schools and its Partnerships for Education Council. Since 2008, Orblych has been leading 9th and 10th grade students of the University High School Academy in activities designed to teach students how to do research, evaluate resources, and retrieve resources related to their assignments. The students come to the library to utilize the Mardigian Library's resources and also discuss plagiarism.

Orblych expects to continue working with the 9th and 10th grade students, but anticipates the program will expand to 11th and 12th grade students to prepare high school students for college-level research.
