Gannett Newsstand offers full-text access to 87 local and regional newspapers published by Gannett throughout the country. It includes the Detroit Free Press from 1999 to present and the Lansing State Journal from 2002 to present. Simple searching for obituaries and death notices is included.
Providing full text of newspapers from around the world, ProQuest Newsstand includes access to articles from recent years of the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and many others. The Detroit News is available from 1989 through a few weeks ago.

SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs describes art auction and rare book catalogs for sales from the late 16th century to scheduled auctions not yet held. This resource includes all major North American and European auction houses, as well as important private sales. Records include titles of works, names of artists or authors, the dates and places of sales, the auction houses, sellers, etc.
Reminder: Voice/Vision Archive sponsoring three dance performances in January
The Voice/Vision Holocaust Survivor Oral History Archive is co-sponsoring three performances of the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company’s “Legacy Project” at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts in West Bloomfield. The “Legacy Project,” narrated by Dorfman, is presented in three parts and is set to music by Ilse Weber, composed while she was imprisoned in a ghetto. Dorfman is the company’s director and a child of Holocaust survivors. She choreographed the dances that bring together her family’s stories, Jewish history, and the universal struggle for identity among immigrants.
The three performances are scheduled for the following dates and times:
Thursday, January 26 – 7:30 p.m.
Friday, January 27 – 10:00 a.m. (Family matinee)
Saturday, January 28 – 8:00 p.m.
