Mardigian Library hosts lunch, reception for retiring director Tim Richards
After 22-years as director of the Mardigian Library, Tim Richards spent his last day of work on June 30 saying goodbye to library staff and UM-Dearborn colleagues before beginning his retirement. Richards and his family attended a lunch with library staff, who presented him with parting gifts and made farewell remarks. Afterward, a reception was held for Richards on the library's second floor where cake and punch were served to faculty, staff and students in attendance.

Back by popular demand: bean bag chairs!
You can find them in the stacks, in quiet corners, or near electrical outlets. Because of their continuing popularity, the library recently added six new bean bag chairs on the second floor. They replace other bean bag chairs that have worn out over time. The comfortable, mobile seating has proved to be quite popular with students who manage to move them around the library. If you'd like to sink down into something comfortable while conducting research, grab one of the bean bag chairs!
Glass paperweight display added to first floor
The Berkowitz Gallery is displaying a large collection of glass paperweights on the library's first floor, in the area surrounding the stairs and photocopiers. The 14 display cases feature a variety of paperweight designs from the Gallery's permanent collection. Take a look at the display when visiting the library.
