New appointments and gifts approved and recognized at the U-M Board of Regents October meeting.
Chancellor Domenico Grasso provided the following university updates:
- Expressed excitement for President Ono’s Vision 2034 campus forum visit on October 26
- Shared news of the Higher Learning Commission 10-year reaccreditation visit next month
- Announced a recent $3.53 million grant from Department of Defense, US Army/Ground Vehicle Systems Center, awarded to a team of multidisciplinary CECS faculty. The team, led by Paul K. Trojan Collegiate Professor of Engineering, Pravansu Mohanty, will assist the U.S. Army's Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle digital design and sustainment efforts by developing a Cloud-based IoT (Internet-of-Things) Platform to enable digital part design, manufacturing and testing
- Reported the College of Engineering and Computer Science has the second highest graduate enrollment among all universities in Michigan, second only to Ann Arbor
- Shared news of our FTIAC four-year graduation rate increasing by nearly 5% over last year. The 5-year graduation rate increased 3%; transfer graduation rates also increased more than 4% over last year
