UM-Dearborn honors a select group of soon-to-be grads each semester for outstanding achievement....
The research partnership will expand and enhance the work of the current collaboration between Oakwood Healthcare’s Center for Exceptional Families (CEF), which provides comprehensive, coordinated healthcare for children with multiple disabilities and works in collaboration with UM-Dearborn’s Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC), which provides first-class education to young children and also serves as a teacher preparation and research site for the SOE. This collaboration allows early childhood educators and healthcare professionals to work in concert to assist the development of children with and without disabilities and to model best practices for teachers and healthcare providers.

By disseminating reports of the clinical work and initiating new research the partnership is positioned to influence the academic and practice communities not only locally but also nationally and globally,” said Edward Silver, dean, School of Education.
Nasser has an extensive background in research, having led or been part of the research team on about a dozen funded research projects while also being published two dozen times in peer-reviewed journal or books. She most recently served as assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Research and Leadership in the School of Medicine and Health Science at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Prior to that Nasser was a physician assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wayne State University.
A native of the Detroit area, in 2011 Nasser received her Ph.D. in physiology from the School of Medicine at Wayne State University. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies from Wayne State University.
