UM-Dearborn’s School of Education plans to host a series of research and scholarship activities from University faculty and invited scholars from outside the institution. The campus community is encouraged to attend this semester’s research colloquium series, which are scheduled from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the School of Education conference room, 252 FCS.
Here’s a list of this semester’s colloquia:
Jan. 26
- Karen Thomas-Brown (SOE assistant professor, social studies) will discuss “Teaching for geographic literacy” and “After-school geography club.”
Feb. 23
- John Branch (Lecturer of marketing, Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and faculty associate, Center for Russian, East European, & Eurasian Studies at U-M) will discuss “Analogical Learning in Higher Education.”
March 15
- Seong Hong (SOE associate professor, early childhood education) will discuss “Transdisciplinary research and practice between Oakwood Center for Exceptional Families and Early Childhood Education Center.”
April 12
- Edward Silver (SOE dean & William A. Brownell Collegiate Professor of Education at U-M) and Crystal Lunsford (SOE lecturer & postdoctoral research associate, SOE at U-M) will discuss “Making Scholarship Useable in Education: Examining the role of Practitioner Journals.”
