Members of UM-Dearborn's Albanian American Student Organization (AASO) joined students from other AASO chapters at U-M, Wayne State University, Michigan State University, Oakland University and Grand Valley State University to celebrate the 2nd annual Mother Teresa Service Day on Saturday, Sept. 25.
In the spirit of Mother Teresa, an Albanian icon of compassion and humanitarianism, the 235 student volunteers spent their Saturday volunteering at various sites in metropolitan Detroit including Gleaners Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Stanford House, Arts and Scraps, Focus Hope, Forgotten Harvest, The Southfield Parks and Garden Emanuel Community Farm, Matrix Human Services, Michigan Clean Water Act, Bed and Truck Feeding Program and the American Indian Health and Human Services.
