Students looking to make a wise investment in higher education now have two new reasons to consider University of Michigan-Dearborn. Both Money Magazine and Washington Monthly have recognized the university’s commitment to academic excellence and affordability.
The university appeared on Money Magazine’s list of “Best Colleges for your Money” in July. The publication examined 2,400 universities, looking at quality of education, affordability and outcomes following graduation to determine the best 711 schools.
In August, UM-Dearborn ranked as the top public school in Michigan in Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang for the Buck – Midwest” rankings. The university’s low net price and high earnings performance are highlighted in the rankings, as well as its percentage of Pell recipients and first-generation students.
The university also appeared in Washington Monthly’s overall rankings, which measures a school’s contributions to the public good in three categories: social mobility, research and service. UM-Dearborn is the top-ranked Michigan public university in the master’s-level category.
