Wolverine Welcome Day hosts record number of attendees
The UM-Dearborn orientation event saw 1,100 participants, added an engagement initiative and connected Dearborn Wolverines to new friendships and activities....
The reason? University of Michigan-Dearborn's West African Drum Group. Music Lecturer Vera Flaig directs the group, which consists of about ten students. “We started out this semester with a smaller group, and then it’s just grown exponentially as students are getting more geeked about it,” Flaig said. “So now it’s a very lively group of students and they meet once a week, twice a week when we have a gig, and they just really enjoy themselves.”
