CECS prepares to welcome High school students for 2011 Contest

March 14, 2011

Local high school juniors and seniors will get to explore opportunities in the fields of engineering and computer science from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at UM-Dearborn’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The highlight of the day will be a competition for scholarships and cash prizes in an engineering, computer programming or Web design competition. In addition, participants will meet current UM-Dearborn engineering students, view projects such as award-winning cars and robots, and learn about its engineering programs.

The event and competition are open to high school juniors and seniors in southeast Michigan. Two-person teams are invited to compete. Teachers or counselor sponsors are required to register student participants. There is no registration fee and a box lunch will be provided to all students. Teachers and parents are encouraged to attend the competition with the student teams.

Deadline to register is Monday, March 14. Registration can be completed and submitted online at www.engin.umd.umich.edu/contest.
