Susan Gedert, alumni and special projects coordinator in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters, was quoted in the spring issue of Michigan Meetings & Events magazine. In the article, titled “Silence is Golden,” Gedert discussed how to organize successful silent auctions.
Thaddeus Radzilowski, lecturer in history, was awarded the Lech Walesa Media Award, given to individuals who “effectively incite the public’s interest in the questions related to Poland, its history, cultural heritage and contemporary life.” Radzilowski is co-founder and president of the Piast Institute, a Polish-American think tank and research center.
Mary Trepanier-Street, professor emerita of education, received the Betty Garlick Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC). The award recognizes those in the profession who have demonstrated a commitment to Michigan’s children and families. Trepanier-Street taught early childhood education at UM-Dearborn for more than 33 years and served as director of the Early Childhood Education Center.
