These UM-Dearborn items were covered at the December 3 U-M Board of Regents meeting.

Chancellor Domenico Grasso provided a progress report on the campus’s strategic plan, the Dearborn Artificial Intelligence Research (DAIR) Center and shared news of the recently awarded federal Student Support Services grant. 

At the meeting, the following personnel actions were approved:

Reappointments of regular instructional staff and select academic and administrative staff

Ann Yolanda Lampkin-Williams, dean, College of Education, Health, and Human Services, effective January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.

Mitchel A. Sollenberger, associate provost for undergraduate education and student success, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, effective January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023 (also professor of political science, with tenure, CASL).

Karen S. Strandholm, interim chair, Department of Management Studies, College of Business, effective January 1, 2021 through August 31, 2021 (also associate professor of strategic management, with tenure, COB).

The Regents also approved a slight modification to the Winter 2021 academic calendar. February 25 and 26 were added as “well-being” days to provide students a break period during the term. This change mirrors the addition of “well-being” days at U-M Ann Arbor and UM-Flint.
