Chancellor’s updates

Interim Chancellor Gabriella Scarlatta provided the following university updates:

  • The university recently held its third annual Undergraduate Retention and Graduation Summit. This year's event focused on how the UM-Dearborn campus is responding to AI, demographic shifts and online learning and included a panel of students discussing their perspectives on AI.
     
  • The university also recently hosted a faculty panel discussion on innovation and integrity in AI last month. Tazin Daniels, an associate director of the University of Michigan’s Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, gave a keynote address. U-M Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer Ravi Pendse provided closing remarks.
     
  • The UM-Dearborn Women’s Ice Hockey Team won the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association Division 1 Tournament Championship for the first time in program history on Feb. 22. Their first game in the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament was on March 19.

Actions

The Regents approved the renaming of the Administration Building after Daniel E. Little.

The Regents approved the relocation of the College of Business from Fairlane Center South to the Social Sciences Building on the main UM-Dearborn Campus.
