Volunteer

Support the EIC: Volunteer with Us!

The Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) thrives thanks to the dedicated individuals, families, and organizations who help maintain our gardens and the Environmental Study Area. We value the unique skills every volunteer brings and offer flexible scheduling to fit your life. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or a first-timer, we’ll provide the guidance you need to make a real impact.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Join us in protecting our local ecosystem through a variety of hands-on activities:

  • Habitat Restoration: Invasive species control, native seed collection, and planting.
  • Trail & Infrastructure: Trail marking, maintenance, and building signs or boardwalks.
  • Gardening: Tending to our pollinator and rain gardens.
  • Seasonal Fun: Maple sap collection and syrup assistance during the winter.

Stewardship Saturdays

Join our year-round mission to restore the ecological health of our habitats. We focus on removing invasive threats and re-establishing native life to ensure a sustainable future for our local environment.

  • When: The 3rd Saturday of every month | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Who: Open to all! (Children must be at least 10 years old to participate).
  • What to Wear: Sturdy work shoes/boots (no sandals), long pants, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or snagged.
  • What to Bring: Please bring your own drinking water and work gloves. If you have a pair of long-handled branch loppers, feel free to bring them along!

Note: This activity involves moderate physical activity in off-trail natural areas.
