Trial databases
The Mardigian Library currently has free trials of the following databases:

Keesing's World News Archive
Available through August 30, 2012

Keesing’s World News Archive has gathered, translated, and edited news from around the world since 1931, publishing a contemporary record of news events in digest form. This online collection allows users to search and read both brief and extensive articles on political, social, and economic topics from 1931 to the present. You can refine search results by date ranges, broad topic areas, countries, and by names mentioned in articles.

Sage Research Methods Online
Available through August 25, 2012

This database brings together content from over 640 books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks, the entire "Little Green Book," and "Little Blue Book" series. Researchers can explore methods and concepts to help them design research projects, understand a particular method, identify a new method, and write up their research. Since this platform focuses on methodology rather than disciplines, it can be used by researchers from the social sciences, health sciences, and more.

If you are interested in either of these resources, please go to the Library’s website, click on the “Faculty Services” link, click on the “Trial Databases” link at the bottom of the left hand column, and sign in with your User name and UM-Dearborn password.

We encourage you to try both Keesing’s World News Archive and Sage Research Methods Online and give us some feedback.  A positive review does not guarantee that we will have funds to acquire the item, but it could help us determine whether we should pursue this item when funds are available. You may send your feedback to: [email protected].
