Early Encounters in North America
Available through May 19, 2013

“Early Encounters in North America” covers 1,482 authors and more than 100,000 pages of letters, diaries, memoirs, and accounts of early encounters. Particular care has been taken to index the material so that it can be used in new ways. For example, you can identify all encounters between the French and the Huron between 1650 and 1700.

EASI Market Planner
Available through May 31, 2013

"EASI Market Planner" is a module in “Data-Planet Statistical Datasets” that provides data about consumer demographics and spending patterns in the United States (including block groups, census tracts, counties, and states). Interactive tools can be used to map, graph, and analyze the data to create in-depth consumer demographic research data.

World Newsreels Online: 1929-1966

“World Newsreels Online: 1929-1966” includes streaming videos that capture full runs of many of the key international newsreels produced during the early twentieth century. These films, produced from 1929 right through to the early post-war period, provide a unique, and until now largely neglected, resource that will give scholars a real insight into how people learned about, and lived through, the events that occurred during this period of history.

Karger Journal and E-book Collections
These collections provides access to Karger medical books published from 1997 to 2012, and to nearly 100 journals published since 1998. Subjects covered include all areas of biomedical sciences, such as cell biology, chemistry, chiropractics, clinical nutrition, cancer research, geriatrics, immunobiology, neurobiology, occupational diseases, parasitology, rehabilitation, and many others.

New Brill e-Books
Access to 2,534 new titles have recently been added to Brill Online Books. New titles come from the following subject categories: Asian Studies, Biblical Studies, Ancient Near East and Early Christianity, Classical Studies, European History and Culture, Middle East and Islamic Studies, Religious Studies, Theology and Philosophy, and Social Sciences.

ProQuest Statistical Abstract of the United States
“The Statistical Abstract of the United States”, which has been published annually by the Federal Government since 1878, is the best-known statistical reference publication in the country. This ProQuest database provides a new search interface for accessing this comprehensive collection of statistics on the social, political, and economic conditions of the United States. It is now updated monthly.

Public Affairs Index
“Public Affairs Index” covers national and global public policy issues such as public health, the environment, housing, human and civil rights, and international commerce and conflict. This database includes scholarly journals, conference papers, trade publications, and government documents. Some coverage begins in 1934, with more complete coverage since 1970.

“Moving Pictures, Optical Entertainments and the Advent of Cinema” explores the pivotal era in entertainment history when previously static images came to life and moved for the first time.
