Current CASL Dean Jerry Hale has been named dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the College of Charleston. His last day with the university is June 30, 2013.

“Because this marks a particularly important moment in CASL’s history, vetting candidates for this position is an endeavor of special importance,” Davy said.

David James, professor of mathematics, will chair the search. The committee includes:

  • Joy Beatty
  • Anne Danielson-Francois
  • Caitlin Finlayson
  • Ivy Forsythe-Brown
  • Jorge Gonzalez Del Pozo
  • Georgina Hickey
  • Dennis Lienhardt
  • Don Miller
  • Ilir Miteza
  • Lori Petrick

Ginny Zarras will serve as the committee’s human resources consultant.

The position has been posted nationally, although the university will not engage a search firm with the process. The search will remain open until the best candidate is identified.
