UM-Dearborn students, alums, faculty and staff celebrated last week’s Homecoming 2025 by supporting each other. Shouts of encouragement echoed around Chancellor’s Pond during the cardboard boat races. Loud applause welcomed the newest class of Alumni Difference Makers. And sports fans rooted for the women’s volleyball, men's basketball and men's ice hockey teams.

Pep Rally and Cardboard Boat Races

Homecoming week at UM-Dearborn kicked off Monday, Sept. 29, with the Pep Rally and Cardboard Boat Races at Chancellor’s Pond.

After making it to the end of the pond and back the fastest (with their boat afloat and in one piece), the Independent of InterVarsity Catholic Fellowship, Organization of Bangladeshi Students and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society celebrated their first- through third-place wins. 

Homecoming x Climate Day of Service

Students volunteered to restore native landscapes around campus by removing invasive Canadian thistle and replanting with native wildflowers and grasses on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Pickleball Tournament

Students, faculty, staff and alumni took part in a pickleball tournament at the Fieldhouse parking lot on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

The event, hosted by the Office of Student Life, Office of Alumni Engagement, UM-Dearborn Athletics and the Dearborn Pickleball Club, encouraged players of all skill levels to join in the competition.

Homecoming Roller Skating Party

Students skated during the Homecoming Roller Skating Party at the Renick University Center on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The event featured music, lights and school spirit as part of the week’s activities.

Women’s Volleyball vs. Lourdes University

The UM-Dearborn women’s volleyball team competed against Lourdes University on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Fieldhouse, with a final score of 3-1 Lourdes.

Golden Jubilee Celebration

Alumni from the classes of 1962 through 1975 toured the campus on Thursday, Oct. 2, before the Golden Jubilee Celebration reunion dinner at the Tony England Engineering Lab Building.

Alumni Difference Maker Awards

For more than 45 years, UM-Dearborn has honored grads who continue to serve as leaders and best in their workplaces and communities, and act as role models for a new generation of UM-Dearborn student leaders. These standout alums are honored as Alumni Difference Makers.
