Children's Garden Program
The Community Organic Garden at the EIC offers a gratifying hands-on experience for young gardeners to make friends, learn, and grow a variety of plants in their own garden plot.
Children and an accompanied adult are invited to join other families in the enriching experience of growing food together. Accompany UM-Dearborn student interpreters to learn gardening tips and techniques as you maintain, grow, and harvest a variety of vegetables.
We’ll also have fun exploring soil, worms, composting, garden creatures, and pollination at the beautiful and interesting Community Organic Garden on the UM-Dearborn campus.
Program Requirements:
1. One adult chaperone must attend each session with the registered child.
2. This program is for children 6-8 years of age.
3. The gardeners meet on Tuesday evenings, 5/30, 6/6, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 8/1, 8/15, and 8/29, from 6-7:30 pm.
4. There will be a $40 fee to cover gardening supplies.
