Where the Physical Landscape and Human Activity Intersect
Geography is an integrative discipline that focuses on the interrelationships between the physical and human environments. This focus means geographers bring a unique perspective to the study of pressing social issues such as natural disasters, urban sprawl, and climate change. With its spatial analytical tools and broad perspectives on the physical and cultural world, geography provides useful skills and knowledge for students in fields such as business, marketing, resource management, urban and land use planning, environmental science, international development, and public administration, among others.
A minor or concentration within Integrative Studies consists of 16 credits, with only one required course. You choose the remaining 12 credits from courses about sustainable cities, natural disasters, urban geography, GIS, global climate change, and other subjects.
