Since the university’s founding, UM-Dearborn has always had roots in highly practical research. We’re proud to say that spirit still motivates our research enterprise today, though as the world’s major challenges have changed, we’ve changed along with them. Our faculty ranks now include experts in a wide range of emerging and evolving disciplines like sustainability, mobility, educational research and curriculum innovation, additive manufacturing and materials, social equity, cyber-physical systems, bioengineering, 21st century energy systems, and urban arts — just to name a few of the areas we count as strengths.
