Help People Overcome Personal and Social Challenges

The minor in human services gives you maximum flexibility to choose courses that meet your personal interests and professional goals. Courses are drawn from the fields of social work, counseling, addiction and recovery services, and child life.

Only one course, Introduction to Social Work, is required. You choose from 16 courses to fill the minor’s remaining 12 credits. Your choices include courses about how children play, working with vulnerable populations, helping families, medicine and addiction, program evaluation, and fundraising and grant writing, among others.

Health and Human Services as a Concentration

The Bachelor of Science degree in health and human services offers a concentration in human services. The degree also offers concentrations in public health and pre-health professions.
