Most UM-Dearborn scholarship opportunities for the 2024-25 award year are available now. External application deadlines will vary. Be sure to submit all required application information by the date on the application.
If an award requires you to demonstrate financial need, be sure to complete your FAFSA.

- Alumni LEAD UM-Dearborn students have received from $2,500-$8,000 in scholarships towards tuition by the University of Michigan Alumni Association. The scholarship will be offered to a highly qualified, admitted student who can enhance diversity at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in terms of race, gender, ethnicity or national origin.
- Alousi, Dr. Adawia STEM Scholarship It is anticipated that the Dr. Adawia Alousi STEM Scholarship for Muslim Women will be between $2,500 and $10,000 per student for undergraduates, and up to $10,000 for graduate students. The scholarship may be renewable for students maintaining satisfactory academic performance.
- Armstrong, Ethel Louise Scholarship Foundation Scholarships target women with physical disabilities who are enrolled in a college or university graduate program in the United States.
- B. Davis Scholarship The B. Davis Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarship to high school juniors and seniors and currently enrolled college students based on an essay, "Describe the three characteristics of leadership that you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual."
- DoSomething.org Scholarships Provides a scholarship resource that rewards students who take roles in addressing important social issues with action: anti-bullying, helping homeless teens and domestic abuse survivors and improving the environment with simple steps.
- Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships for Minorities This program is administered by the National Research Council. Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD or ScD program in Archaeology, Anthropology, Art History, Astronomy, Chemistry, Communications, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Ethnomusicology, Geography, History, International Relations, Life Sciences, Linguistics, Literature, Language, Mathematics, Performance Study, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religion, Sociology, and Urban Planning.
- Grasshopper Entrepreneur Scholarship Grasshopper awards one $5,000 scholarship for a student enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate degree program in the calendar year 2019. Applicants must write an essay from 1,000-2,000 words on the topic to be announced.
- National Science Foundation Graduate Research Foundation Provides approximately 900-1000 new three-year fellowships each year to graduate students in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, and behavior and social sciences
- (A) Place for Mom Senior Care Innovation Scholarships Five $1,000 scholarships are offered to students who are interested in gerontology and aging. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate student who are in a nursing, medical, or social sciences related major. Deadline: April 15th.
- Rand, Ayn Essay Scholarships provide awards ranging from $50 to $10,000 based on selected publications. Entrants can range from 8th graders to graduate students.
- Schaefer, Miriam Scholarship: Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics Non-renewable scholarships for junior or senior undergraduates in an elementary or secondary teacher education program with a mathematics specialty. Secondary education majors must have successfully completed the required calculus sequence. Elementary education majors must have at least a mathematics minor. Applicants must be a Michigan resident with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Southfield Legacy Scholarship Programs Multiple scholarships for high school seniors who are residents of Southfield or Lathrup Village. Deadline: March 15th
- Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education The Spencer Foundation's Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education are open to doctoral degree candidates at graduate schools in the U.S. The emphasis is on the improvement of education.
- Women's Independence Scholarship Program Targets women who have survived intimate partner abuse and has been separated from their abuser for more than one year. Applicants must have a defined plan to update skills for career advancement or to train for a new field or re-enter the job market. Candidates must have sought services from a non-profit domestic violence agency for a minimum of six consecutive months and that the agency is willing to continue mentorship throughout her education.
- Women Techmakers (formerly Anita Borg Memorial Google Scholarship) Women currently enrolled at an accredited university, who are accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at a university in the United States or Canada. Candidates must be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field with a strong academic record and exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for increasing involvement of women in computer science.
- Young, Coleman A. Foundation Provides scholarships and mentoring to students who might not be able to attend college without this support.
