Biography and Education

Hung-Chung Su, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in Operations Management at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, College of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Operations and Management Science from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and also holds a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

Dr. Su’s research interests include quality management, operations strategy and supply chain management. He is engaged in several research projects concerning reliability in operational performance, security issues in supply chain, and issues in buyer-supplier relationship. His academic works could be found in premier journals such as the Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and International Journal of Production Economics

Dr. Su has won the Joseph M. Juran Fellowship Award (2010) for his thesis research and also the Carlson School of Management Award for Excellence in Teaching (2009), both from University of Minnesota. He has also been the recipient of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Recognition for Exemplary Research (2015).
