Indiana Shooting Statement (4/16/2021)

Dear Colleagues,

We are all once again shattered by the needless loss of life caused by a mass shooting, this time in Indiana. While we are still learning the details of the event, another act of violence like this is another wound that our country has suffered. We remain committed to protecting and providing solace for each other for our family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors during these already difficult times. Our commitment to peace and kindness binds us together. 

Although this incident did not happen near our campus, students who need assistance during this difficult time can receive it through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Faculty and staff may seek support through the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO). If you are experiencing or see something that concerns you, please contact public safety at 313-593-5333.

We express sympathy to the family of the victims of this terrible event.
