Learning More About Our Community To Better Plan For Our Future (01/18/2022)
Dear Colleagues,
Last June, I announced the creation of a DEI Working Group to help increase our awareness of and deepen our commitment to, respect, inclusion, and diversity. It remains my goal that UM-Dearborn generates real action and progress in response to challenging and complex DEI issues of our campus community.
Tomorrow, you will receive an email asking you to participate in a diversity, equity, and inclusion climate survey. The university is partnering with SoundRocket, an independent, third-party research and survey methodology company to administer this survey. I encourage everyone to take part. You can read more about the DEI Climate Survey in last Thursday’s Reporter.
At UM-Dearborn, we are committed to building and nurturing an inclusive and equitable environment and this climate survey will help us better understand our landscape and make informed decisions moving forward. The past few years have caused all of us to reconsider our outlooks. The understanding of social pressures and biases has also changed since the last survey in 2017.
You are an important member of the UM-Dearborn community, and we want to make sure everyone in our community feels comfortable, welcome, and respected. We want to hear your voices. Thank you in advance for participating.
Go Blue - Go Dearborn!
