Provost Search Updates (August 4, 2026)

Dear Colleagues,

We hope this email finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are writing with some updates on the UM-Dearborn provost search.

Thank you to those who have submitted nominations and provided feedback and suggestions to the search committee. We have had a robust response to the job posting.

If you have not yet submitted feedback or attended a listening session, we strongly encourage you to do so using the confidential feedback form. Please know that your feedback and responses will be reported anonymously.

Our next listening session is for faculty and is scheduled for this afternoon at 3 p.m. Please use this registration link if you plan to attend. We will be hosting additional sessions in September. Your contributions are helping to shape this search, and we appreciate you taking the time to write and attend the sessions.

Finally, some of you shared concerns regarding the job posting summary. We have clarified this section to make it clear that this is a national search open to both internal and external candidates. We will be re-opening the posting, which originally closed on July 31, for an additional two weeks with this updated language.

We will continue to keep you updated as this process moves forward.

Sincerely,

Gabriella Scarlatta
