Revised COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (February 20, 2023)
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to share an important update regarding the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
Effective today, UM-Dearborn no longer requires COVID vaccinations for faculty, staff, and students. This includes future employees and students.
Faculty, staff, and students no longer must report COVID illnesses to supervisors, human resources, or the COVID support line. Regardless of policy or illness, it is always good practice to stay home if you are not feeling well.
UM-Ann Arbor and UM-Flint will be sharing their respective vaccination policies on their campuses today.
This revised policy revision aligns the university with the anticipated end to the federal government’s emergency declarations. The policy reflects the reality of a new phase of the pandemic with more consistent and manageable COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in our region.
We join U-M health officials in strongly encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations, including remaining up to date with booster shots as recommended by the CDC.
We have created a health and wellness page that provides additional COVID-19 information and other safety precautions.
The world has experienced great challenges over the past three years. The UM-Dearborn community persevered the pandemic due to your diligence and partnership in
keeping our university safe.
With sincere appreciation and hope for a healthy future,
