Thank You for Making UM-Dearborn Special (December 7, 2021)

Dear Colleagues, 

To be sure, the past 20 months have been the most demanding and challenging time in our University’s history, testing our substance and resolve. I am extraordinarily proud of our collective response to this unprecedented call to action. You all stepped up and not only did what was necessary, but what was compassionate, just, and right. No university has done it better. 

Therefore, it is with heartfelt sincerity and great appreciation that I am identifying and allocating resources to provide special recognition for your sacrifices and hard work. No unit budgets will be adversely impacted.

All regular non-temporary faculty and staff will receive a one-time payment of $1500 in mid-December. This recognition award will be deposited directly into your account or in some instances, a special check will be issued.  

While this expression of gratitude is insufficient to fully recognize your tireless dedication, positive attitude and striking resilience, your efforts will be remembered as having meaningfully defined the character of UM-Dearborn.   

I am honored to be part of, and lead this exceptional University.
