SUBJECT: Announcement: Interim Vice Provost for Research

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that, pending approval by the Board of Regents, Dr. Yunus Zeytuncu will serve as Interim Vice Provost for Research, effective October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Dr. Zeytuncu has served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters since July 2021, where he leads the research enterprise and graduate education. Since joining UM-Dearborn, he has directed nationally recognized undergraduate research programs funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency. Prof. Zeytuncu has secured and managed more than $2.5 million in external funding for research, outreach, and student programs, and has built strong community partnerships across metro Detroit through mathematics outreach and K–12 programming.

I am confident that his experience and commitment to advancing research and scholarship will serve our university community well. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Zeytuncu to this new role.
