SUBJECT: Provost Office Leadership Update

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to share several leadership updates within the Provost Office.

As many of you know, Associate Provost Maureen Linker stepped down from her administrative role at the end of June and returned to the faculty. She will continue to support both the Provost's and Chancellor's Offices as a Senior Provost Fellow, assisting with several important institutional initiatives, including leadership transitions, accreditation efforts, and strategic projects. We remain grateful for Maureen's many contributions and years of dedicated service to UM-Dearborn.

To ensure continuity in our leadership team, I am pleased to announce the following appointments:

• Dr. Oleg Zikanov will serve as Interim Vice Provost for Research (pending regental approval). In this role, Oleg will provide leadership for the university's research enterprise, graduate education, and research administration while continuing to advance our strategic research priorities.
• Dr. Stein Brunvand will serve as Associate Provost for Graduate Education, Accreditation and Digital Education (pending regental approval). Stein will continue to provide leadership in accreditation, digital education, and other academic initiatives that support faculty success and academic excellence across the university.
• Dr. Joan Remski will serve as Associate Provost, assuming the position previously held by Maureen Linker. I would also like to take a moment to thank Joan for her leadership of the Office of Research over the past year. Her dedication, guidance, and commitment to supporting our research community have been greatly appreciated. Joan will oversee undergraduate education and student success initiatives, and we are pleased to welcome her back to this important leadership role.

Please join me in congratulating Oleg, Stein, and Joan as they begin these roles. I look forward to working with each of them as we continue advancing the mission of the University of Michigan-Dearborn and supporting the success of our students, faculty, and staff.
