Data Privacy
University of Michigan-Dearborn as an institution has always led by example. It's time we take the lead in student data privacy education, and implement a safer learning environment for our students and faculty. Student Data is personally identifiable information that is collected from an individual. Not only does student data include names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, and videos but also the participation and activity within email accounts, online bulletin boards, or educational programs/apps.
With the increased use of online learning and associated programs, educators must be conscious of what they are asking students to sign up for when using 3rd party educational tools.
