African & African American Studies, EnglishBiography and Education
I am a LEO Lecturer II in the Literature, Philosophy, and the Arts Department, and, the African and African American Studies Program. I teach Advanced Composition, Advanced Creative Writing, Introduction to Literature, Introduction to African American Literature, and Introduction to Africana Studies. I advise students regarding publication of their poetry and stories; selection of graduate schools, and developing writing portfolios for graduate school admissions. I am an award winning published poet and spoken word artist who performs with a jazz band. I assist with the facilitation of the League of Extraordinary Poets, a student group of poets.
