Electrical EngineeringBiography and Education
Dr. Hollweg has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil, obtained in Dec. 2016. He also has a master's and Ph.D in electrical engineering from UFSM, obtained in July 2019 and Dec. 2021, respectively. His research interests include adaptive and nonlinear control theory, optimization-based control design, and their applications in power electronics, motor drives, renewable energy systems, microgrids, and robotics. His work particularly focuses on robust and adaptive control strategies for power converters, electric machines, and cyber-physical systems. He is currently an Assistant Professor (ECE Department) at University of Michigan - Dearborn (UM-Dearborn), Dearborn, USA. He has authored 40+ research articles in acclaimed engineering and control journals. Furthermore, he is a faculty advisor for UM-Dearborn IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Theta Tau chapter, as well as an active member of the IEEE community and IEEE-HKN. He serves as a peer reviewer for esteemed journals under IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, as well as Mathematical Reviews from American Mathematical Society (AMS). He also received the IFAC Elsevier Control Engineering Practice Feature Paper of March 2023 distinction and the 2021-2024 Ph.D. Thesis Highlight Award from the Electrical Engineering Postgraduate Program at the Federal University of Santa Maria, recognizing it as one of the top dissertations in the program.
