Dr. Remski earned her Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Michigan State University in 1997 and her B.S. in mathematics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
She joined the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the fall of 1997 as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2003. From 2006-2011 and 2015 to present, she served as the Program Director for the MS Degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. She received the Distinguished Service Award in 2014.
Her area of expertise is in applied mathematics with a focus on partial differential equations and their numerical solutions. Current research interests include adaptive techniques called moving mesh methods for solutions of PDEs that exhibit sharp phase transitions in small regions of their domain.
