Biography and Education

Dr. Kristi Stewart, a King-Chavez-Park Future Faculty Fellow, is a curriculum and instruction specialist focusing in digital literacy education. Kristi's expansive classroom experience includes K-12, international, and university-level teaching appointments. Kristi is committed to developing curriculum that disrupts hegemony through an integrated social justice pedagogical approach. To this end, her research interests include human rights rhetoric, digital storytelling, and "glocal" curricular design.  Kristi has published papers (2) in the British Journal of Educational Technology that cover themes relating to student voice and cross-cultural collaborations in both teaching and learning. In her free time, Kristi is a passionate "sports mom" and delights in cheering on her sons whether they are on the ice, on the ski hill, or on the cross-country course.
