Biography and Education

Lauren Cabrera is an assistant professor of educational psychology and research methods at the College of Education, Health, and Human Services, University of Michigan-Dearborn. She received her Ph.D. in  Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2022. She obtained both her Master of Teaching in Secondary Science Education and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia. Her research interests focus on how teachers can positively influence student motivation, engagement, and regulation in middle school science classrooms. She employs quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods to better capture the complex interactions and impacts of the modern science classrooms. Her research has been featured in peer-reviewed Educational Psychology and Science Education journals.
