How to Get Started
Step 1: Apply to UM-Dearborn
Submit your application for admission to be considered for institutional scholarships.
Scholarship offers are automatically awarded based on your cumulative GPA at the time of application. Some scholarships may have additional requirements.
Step 2: Complete the FAFSA
Available October 1, 2025, for the 2026–27 aid year
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial aid.

All admitted students are automatically considered for need-based grants after submitting the FAFSA.
Note: Initial financial aid offers are mailed to admitted first-year students in mid-February.
Step 3: Continue Your Scholarship Search
After you apply, complete the UM-Dearborn Scholarship Application to be matched with additional private and endowed scholarships.
You can also explore opportunities outside the university. Many public and private organizations, community groups, and state programs offer scholarships with their own eligibility requirements and deadlines.
