How to Get Started

Step 1: Apply to UM-Dearborn

  • Submit your application for admission to be considered for institutional scholarships.

  • Scholarship offers are automatically awarded based on your cumulative GPA at the time of application. Some scholarships may have additional requirements.

Step 2: Complete the FAFSA

Available October 1, 2025, for the 2026–27 aid year

Note: Initial financial aid offers are mailed to admitted first-year students in mid-February.

Step 3: Continue Your Scholarship Search

  • After you apply, complete the UM-Dearborn Scholarship Application to be matched with additional private and endowed scholarships.

  • You can also explore opportunities outside the university. Many public and private organizations, community groups, and state programs offer scholarships with their own eligibility requirements and deadlines.
