Learn How to Use Lightweight Materials in Automotive Design

3 students working around a table.Engineers who can design lightweight, fuel-efficient vehicles are in great demand. We’ve created the graduate certificate in automotive materials and design for automotive engineers who want to learn about lightweight materials, vehicle dynamics and control, advances in ergonomic and structural design, and advanced manufacturing techniques.

All classes for the 12-credit certificate are offered on campus and online. We schedule all classes in the late afternoon and evening so they’re convenient for part-time students who work.

You can apply credits earned for the certificate toward graduate degrees offered by UM-Dearborn’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.
