University of Michigan-Dearborn students come from all walks of life. Nearly half of our students are PELL eligible and the first in their families to attend college. The university’s culture of support was developed to assist our diverse student body and has led to demonstrated increases in retention and graduation rates.
The Look to Michigan campaign reinforces this culture of support by providing guidance both in the classroom and in life. Academic support is backed by top-tier faculty and lecturers, advisors, peer mentors and access to supplemental instruction and tutoring.
Outside the classroom, student well-being is supported through a food and clothing pantry, emergency need grants and expanded mental health services, which ensure students have access to counseling services 24 hours a day.
