Informal and Formal Reporting Processes – Academic Code of Conduct:
In September 2021 UM-Dearborn’s new Academic Code of Conduct went into effect. This new code provides faculty multiple mechanisms for handling academic misconduct matters that may arise. Informal reporting can be utilized when a faculty wishes to resolve misconduct at a classroom level, if the student has accepted responsibility, and if agreement is reached on restorative measures. Formal reporting means the student will have a record in the University’s academic misconduct database. Please don’t hesitate to contact Ryan Neloms, Assistant Director of Student Conduct at [email protected] with questions.
Scholar’s Pandemic Relief Program:
The deadline is May 15, 2022. This program will provide $1,500 to up to 20 eligible faculty to re-establish research and scholarship activities that have been significantly impacted or delayed by the pandemic, and/or for the exploration of new research directions and creative practice in ways that were not possible during the pandemic.
Hub Summer Programs for Faculty:
The Hub continues to provide a plethora of resources and creative ideas to improve your courses. This spring/summer the Hub is offering faculty the opportunity to take part in the “Small Changes: A Course Improvement Studio” from May 9 through May 20, 2022. A program description can be found here and applications are due by Monday, April 25.
Please look for other opportunities from the Hub in upcoming emails and you can always schedule an individualized appointment with an instructional designer.
New Brief Data Usage Survey:
The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness has created a new data usage survey which can also be found on the main IRE website (scroll down to find the blue “How are you using our data?” button at the bottom of the page). The purpose of this survey is to get a sense of how the campus is using the data provided by IRE and other offices to make changes to office or program operations or otherwise start work on new projects.
As a reminder, all of our Provost communications can be found on our webpage.
The Provost Office wishes you a smooth end of your semester! Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions!
With all best wishes,
