SUBJECT: Higher Learning Commission Draft Report! – Please Review and Provide Feedback

Good morning, colleagues:

I hope everyone is doing well.

As I mentioned back in September, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will be visiting our campus for a comprehensive evaluation visit next fall (November 13 and 14, 2023). As part of the preparation efforts, I’m delighted to share the draft HLC narrative report which is posted on our campus’s HLC – 2023 Visit Preparation webpage for your review. 

The draft report is a testament to the great work and activities that everyone on this campus undertakes everyday to educate and help our students achieve their dreams. Many offices (from the Mardigian Library to External Relations) and individuals from all around campus contributed to this draft report. I take responsibility for any errors or omissions but I’m hoping you all can indulge me in providing additional insights and feedback to strengthen what I believe to be a strong draft report that showcases the awesome faculty, staff, and students we have at UM-Dearborn. 

I am asking for the campus community to review the draft report and provide feedback, such as suggested items, corrections, or recommended changes, to [email protected] by January 31, 2023. When providing feedback, please note the specific criterion and page number that is being referenced when possible. Finally, as you are reviewing the report, you may find some parts highlighted in yellow which have been intentionally flagged for updating with forthcoming information, events, or evidence.
