Pamela Aronson, Professor of Sociology
Gen Z Voters and the issues facing this generation. Professor Aronson will discuss why it is important for candidates to address these issues and the massive gap in political attitudes between young men and women.
Julio Borquez, Associate Professor of Political Science
Professor Borquez will discuss polarization, an inescapable attribute of modern politics: What is it? What form does it take? Why exactly is it such a concern?
Time Kiska, Professor of Communications
Professor Kiska will discuss the process of exit-polling and election night projections, and how each has become infinitely more complicated this year. How will the projections be made? What are the safety mechanisms?
Hafiz Malik, Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering
Professor Malik will discuss lawmakers' role in protecting democracy against the dangers of deepfakes and protecting democracy.
Lisa Martin, Department Chair & Professor of Health & Human Services and Women's & Gender Studies
Personal is Political: Moving from policy to voter engagement. In this talk, Professor Martin will share research on how storytelling can make the abstract more real to engage voters and stories/data on past political campaigns that touch on issues including LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive freedom.
