Dear Colleagues,
I wanted to send along some updates and important dates, but most of all, I wanted to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and break! Please remember that the campus will be closed November 20-24, with no activities scheduled for that week and that non-bargained for staff will be enjoying time off the entire week of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Please note that:
- While all buildings will be locked, MCard access remains unchanged
- The library will be closed
- The RUC will be open Monday through Friday to allow access to the UM Credit Union
- DPS and Facilities Operations will maintain campus presence.
Please join me in congratulating Professor Cam Amin on his appointment as Director for the Inclusive History Project for the Dearborn campus! Also, if you have missed it, Professor Paul Draus was named the new Director of the Detroit Center back in July.
Final exams dates:
- Last Day of Classes: Friday, December 8th
- Study Days: Saturday-Sunday, December 9th-10th
- Exam Dates: Monday-Friday, December 11th-15th

November 16th from 4-6 p.m.
The Provost Office, along with all four colleges and the Mardigian Library are hosting a Friendsgiving dinner for international students. Thanksgiving side dish kits will be handed out to all students in attendance. Additional side dish kits are available for students to pick up at Dearborn Support. - Chancellor’s and Deans’ Medallion Reception
December 14th from 4:30-6:00 p.m. - Commencement

Finally, I’d like to congratulate staff members who received awards and reached important milestones at last week’s Chancellor’s Staff Recognition Ceremony! Thank you for your commitment, engagement and assistance at all times and in all circumstances!
