SUBJECT: Suspension of Exemption Requests
March 23, 2022 at 11:01 AM
Dear Dearborn colleagues:
As we transition from the winter to summer and fall terms and in consideration of low COVID cases on campus, we are writing to inform you that we are suspending the exception request process for on-campus teaching or in-person campus work for individuals with special circumstances (e.g., exceptional care responsibilities) that fall outside the traditional ADA accommodations. This change is effective for May 1, 2022.
Please remember that there is still a process for requesting ADA accommodations for personal medical conditions through the Dearborn Office of Human Resources, which involves an interactive process and appropriate medical documentation Requests for an ADA accommodation or questions about the ADA process can be sent directly to Assistant Director of Human Resources, Molly McCutchan ([email protected]).
As is always the case, decisions regarding one’s teaching and work modality are made at the college and/or division level.
As always, we will continue to monitor the health situation of our region and state, and adjust our COVID-related policies accordingly as appropriate.
Sincerely,
Gabriella Scarlatta
Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
