SUBJECT: COB and CEHHS Update

July 7, 2023 at 8:56 AM

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well and you are enjoying the summer.

I’m writing to provide an update regarding the relocations of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services (CEHHS) and the College of Business (COB) that have taken place over the summer.

As you may be aware, the dean's office and staff of CEHHS and COB were temporarily moved to the Social Sciences Building (SSB) during the summer months in order to save on HVAC and maintenance costs while also easing our carbon footprint. After careful consideration and evaluation, it has been decided that the CEHHS Dean's office, faculty and team members who moved in this summer will remain in SSB through the upcoming academic year while COB will be moving back to the Fairlane building on August 14.

As has been the case since the beginning of these moves, all campus relocations are temporary measures until the campus’s Master Planning process — which involves collecting and analyzing data about space design, utilization, and best practices — is completed and any recommendations are discussed and approved by senior leadership. This process, which has been ongoing since last academic year, will allow ample time for campus input and consideration from key stakeholders, including Dean Ann Lampkin-Williams and Dean Frédéric Brunel. Once made, the final decision regarding the location of CEHHS and COB will be shared with the entire campus.

Rest assured our aim is to make an informed decision that aligns with our campus’s strategic plan and long-term vision for all stakeholders. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Carol Glick or myself. We will continue to provide you all updates as this process unfolds.

Thank you for your support as we work together to build a stronger and more sustainable campus community!

Sincerely,

Gabriella
