Application Deadlines for International Students

Note: Summer enrollment is not advised for incoming international students.

First-year students who have attended secondary school abroad are expected to meet the same admissions requirements as U.S. students.
Start Your Application
Once you are ready to apply for admission to UM-Dearborn, you’ll first create an account with UM-Dearborn’s Admissions Portal. Alternatively, you may apply using the Common Application.
Gather Required Materials
In addition to completing your application, you will likely need to submit additional materials such as:
- Official High School Academic Documents
- College Entrance Exams (optional)
- English Language Proficiency

Student Visa Information
If you plan to enroll as an F1 or J1 visa student, you will need to provide additional information to the Office of International Affairs (OIA). Visit the OIA website for more information about the visa process.
OIA also has helpful information about maintaining student status, travel, international student orientation, and other related questions.
