Wolverine Welcome Day
Wolverine Welcome Day is the final step in the orientation process for all incoming students each Fall semester. Participation is required for new First Year and Transfer students and is strongly encouraged for new Graduate Students. The day is designed for you to explore campus, meet your fellow Dearborn Wolverines, and get an introduction to campus life at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Wolverine Welcome Day 2024 will occur on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
The day begins with registration at 12:30 p.m. and will conclude by approximately 4 p.m. Please plan to arrive at the CASL field (located outside the CASL Building (CB); see campus map) no later than 12:45 p.m.
Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to attend engaging workshop sessions; connect with other new students, student organizations, and faculty/staff; and get lots of swag! At the Go Blue Bash, beyond connecting with over 100 student organizations and campus resources, you can also expect to enjoy tasty carnival snacks, and exciting outdoor games and activities!

Go Blue Bash Block Party
You will have an opportunity to "choose your own adventure" and participate in anything you like! During the block party, students can connect with over 100 different student organizations and campus resources around campus, visit your college and meet your dean, attend an optional session, visit the Mardigian Library, enjoy fun outdoor activities and carnival food, and much more! Optional Session Options
All sessions will be offered twice at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Academic Success - SSB 1500
In this session we will review the resources available in the Office of Academic Success (OAS) and on campus. By the end of the session you will know how to schedule an appointment with one or more of the centers in OAS, strategize with new study tips and tricks to start the semester strong, and meet other first year friends.
Career Services - CASL 1030
What can you do now to be more competitive later? Let’s talk about YOU. In this session, identify key experiences that will help leverage your skills and strengths throughout your UM-Dearborn journey and how Career Services can support you!
Grad Studies - Kochoff Hall
Come join the directors of the Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of International Affairs for a graduate student networking and success tips session. You will have the opportunity to meet other new graduate students and hear advice from and ask questions of current graduate students to help ease your transition to graduate school.
Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training - CASL 1014 & 1018
This training is mandatory for all who did not attend an in person orientation session. It will include information about sexual assault, consent, resources available to you, and tools you can use to disrupt and prevent sexual assault and other discriminatory harassment.
